Rainy wedding pictures

Every bride dreams of a perfect wedding day, where the sun is shining and birds are singing but if you live in Rochester, it’s not always like that.  Don’t let the weather conditions ruin the wedding day.  Besides, photos in the rain end up looking more unique and equally beautiful if it was a sunny day.

Black-and-white shots of a couple kissing under one umbrella with delicate raindrops creating puddles at their feet are very romantic. If a couple is planning a wedding in Upstate, N.Y. with an outside ceremony, you need to accept the possibility to embrace the rain! Honestly, some of my favorite images have been taken in the rain.

While Rochester wedding photographers will never push a couple to do something that may leave your dress a bit wet, but our staff is totally up for creating incredible photos in wedding photography rochester nythe rain if the bride and groom are. Hey, it’s your wedding day, make the most of it and have fun! Have an alternate spot for photos. If it’s pouring cats and dogs, thundering, lightning and in general not safe to go outside for photos, have an alternate inside location. This is something our office staff can help the bride and groom plan before the wedding.
Rochester wedding photographer’s can create incredible portraits in not-so-amazing-looking locations if the couple up for the challenge. The key is to have a place that has excellent natural lighting. A lot of times hotels and reception areas have great windows and clean backgrounds, any place can work if we’ve got some windows or doors. Buy umbrellas if it’s only drizzling or raining lightly, nothing could be cuter than some matching umbrellas and rain boots with your bridesmaids’ dresses.

Be creative and have fun! Bring a pair of flip-flops so you don’t mess up your pretty shoes. Some of our favorite portraits have been taken in the rain.
